James (J.R.) Russell, Jr. joined the firm in November of 2004. He primarily serves Goldman & Rosen as a litigator. He has maneuvered multiple cases through the litigation process through final settlement, trial, or appeal. His practice focuses on general and complex litigation in several different substantive areas of law.
J.R. has successfully tried a myriad of cases for individuals and businesses before a variety of municipal courts, common pleas courts, and federal courts. He has obtained a multitude of favorable outcomes for his clients, including jury verdicts, legal opinions, and a decision on an appeal before the Supreme Court of Ohio. He has also successfully argued cases before the Third, Fifth, Eighth, Ninth, and Eleventh Districts Courts of Appeal.
J.R. was selected to the Ohio Super Lawyers® Rising Star® list for his work in general litigation. His success stems from his care and understanding of the unique characteristics and needs of his particular clients, whether they are individuals or businesses.
He also devotes much of his practice to representing local governmental entities, and helping his clients in family law matters. Prior to joining Goldman & Rosen, he gained a substantial amount of court experience representing clients in domestic relations and criminal matters.
