Mark was admitted to the Ohio bar and joined the firm as an associate in November 2009. Mark is a civil practitioner who helps assist his clients with their legal needs both in and out of court.
Mark has successfully litigated cases ranging from prosecuting and defending simple debt collection cases to managing complex, multi-party business litigation. Mark has obtained favorable court judgments and settlements in diverse areas of the law, including employment law, real estate law, corporate shareholder rights, intellectual property, unfair competition, legal malpractice, debt collections, zoning, local government law, and insurance law. Mark has achieved positive results for his clients in bankruptcy adversary proceedings, where he has represented debtors, creditors, and bankruptcy trustees in both corporate and personal bankruptcies.
Mark also serves clients in non-litigation matters. Mark assists new and existing small businesses by forming corporations or limited liability companies, preparing operating agreements to protect the rights of business owners, ensuring the business has adequate insurance, and preparing contracts, forms, and other documents necessary for the business's operations. Mark helps both buyers and sellers in business mergers and acquisitions. Mark protects his clients in real estate matters by negotiating and preparing purchase agreements, leases, mortgages, promissory notes, and documents necessary to a successful transaction. Mark also drafts wills and trusts necessary for an effective estate plan.
Mark is an active member of the Akron Bar Association, where he serves on the Scholarship Committee. Mark is a graduate of The University of Akron School of Law. During law school, Mark served as an Akron Law Review editor and was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society. His moot court team won the 2009 Midwest Regional of the Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition in trademark and unfair competition law.
Prior to law school, Mark worked as a regulatory compliance engineer in the commercial nuclear power industry and as a consultant for the Department of Energy nuclear weapons program.
